In an effort to provide our residents with the convenience to sign the petition online and remain legal, FOH requested an opinion from the Tennessee State Attorney General several months ago on the ability to leverage the Tennessee Uniform Electronic Transactions Act to accept digital signatures for petitions. We found other states were moving in an electronic direction with various activities like notary of documents, etc. We believed this ruling could benefit other community groups in the future if approved.
